Located at Rua da Emenda, its pedestrian zone is defined as the largest hawker area existing in Macao, and is one of the most densely populated. Its is also a settlement area for Southeast Asian ethnic groups, such as Macao’s Indonesians and Vietnamese Chinese residents. Many of them are working or living at this area, and in the evening, they will also gather for taking a walk or chatting on the street.

義字街步行區是澳門現存的最大面積小販區，該區是澳門人口最密集的地方之一。除華人群體之外，該區域還是印尼族群、緬華族群等東南亞族群的聚集地。到了晚上，東南亞族裔在這裡散步聊天。
