Ethnic Diversities

Macao has been a immigration city since 16th Century. Influenced by historical factors such as long-term settlement of Portuguese and the prosperity of Maritime Silk Road, the demographic and ethnic structure of Macao has been changing continuously, and this change has become more evident in recent years. In general, Macao's population is growing at a relatively fast pace, with a natural growth of the local population and a large number of foreign immigrants moving in. The diversity of ethnic groups in Macao is evident.

受葡萄牙長居與海上絲綢之路的繁榮等歷史因素影響，澳門自十六世紀起就是一個移民城市。澳門的人口結構和族群結構一直以來都在不斷變化，近年來來這種變化更為明顯。總體來看，澳門人口增速較快，本地人口自然增長與外地移民大量遷入，可以看出澳門是一個快速成長的移民社會。澳門族群多樣化特徵明顯。

 

Today, the ethnic minorities consist of Macanese and immigrants from the Philippines, Thailand, Burma, and other countries. The social structure of Macao is still in the process of adjustment, and foreign workers now account for more than 15% of the total population.

時至今日，澳門的少數族裔由土著葡萄牙人以及來自菲律賓、泰國、緬甸等國家的移民構成。澳門社會結構還處在不斷調整的過程中，目前澳門的外來雇傭人員已經占到了總人口比例的15%以上。
